As we've been preparing our hearts each week to encounter Jesus in a fresh way, we're reminded that the Lenten season is one in which we prepare for the ultimate encounter on Easter. Easter is a time when we celebrate the resurrection and what that means for us as children of God; and what the sacrifice on the cross not just meant but gave us. Jesus didn't die, was buried, and rose again so we could live mediocre lives. There's a power in the resurrection once you understand its significance.
The past two weeks of this series have been very good. If you've missed one, go back and watch it on our Facebook page to get caught up to speed. The best is still yet to come; and I want to ask you to pray right now for those people who need a fresh encounter with Jesus this Easter. Make plans now to invite them, (rather bring them), to church with you on Easter Sunday.
Easter weekend around here is always jam packed. Our largest outreach to the community, our egg hunt is right around the corner. We're still in need of people to assist with games, set up, clean up, and filling up eggs with candy and prizes. Please make plans to join us on Saturday March 31st as we reach out to our community to be the hands of Jesus by loving families.
Thank you to so many who have already brought back the plastic eggs filled with candy. If you haven't registered yet to serve, please do so soon. Feel free to contact the church office and we'll get back to you..
Be encouraged that there's more encountering Jesus to come; and He longs to meet you in your place of need to heal broken hurts and dreams. God has a plan, so don't give up! I'm praying for you.
ps... i hope you'll join me on Friday March 23rd for a presentation from Jews for Jesus on Christ in the Passover. It's an amazing demonstration showing Christ through the jewish feast; it starts at 6:30 pm.
